The demand for boats has been rising steadily over the past couple of years. We are seeing a tremendous amount of interest from people all over the US and Canada. Here at Valley Marine we understand your hesitation of buying a boat sight unseen and we want to eliminate your concerns. We can make your out of area purchase easy and painless. We have developed this page to help inform you how the process works and what we do at Valley Marine to make it a trouble-free experience.
Above and Beyond
We constantly update our website to make sure our inventory is fresh. We post numerous pictures and a detailed description of each boat to give you a good understanding of our product. We are aware that out of state and out of country customers need more information to make an informed decision. You can request additional pictures or even a youtube video on the boat that you are interested in. Once you decide on a boat we are willing to hold the boat for a reasonable amount of time with a refundable deposit. We will stop advertising the boat until you give us your final answer after seeing it in person. When you arrive at our facility we will set aside time to go over the boat with you to make sure it is what you wanted. We will take you through a thorough walk around of the boat. We will also take you to the water for a demo ride. We insist on taking you out in the boat for the first time. By doing this we can make sure you know exactly what you are getting before you make a trip home.
Can't Come To Us
We understand that sometimes getting to us isn't always an option so we help on gettting the boat to you. We have helped to ship boats as far away as Australia, Alaska, and Russia. We can get you in contact with truck brokerages specializing in boats or direct you to websites dealing in transportation. We will have all the specifications on the boat and we can even load the boats on trucks for shipping.
We appreciate our neighbors to the north and sell about a dozen boats to Canada each year. Our dealership is located in South Central Washington. Valley Marine is 4 hours away from White Rock or Osoyoos and 5 hours away from Grand Forks British Columbia. Canadian customers do not pay Washington state sales tax. We will need a copy of your driver's license and proof of residence to avoid Washington sales tax. At Valley Marine we will make sure you have all the proper documentation (Bill of Sale, Titles, MSO's) to bring your boat back into Canada. Once you reach the border you will not pay a duty however you will have to pay the PST tax and fill out a form. When you get home and apply for licensing you will then have to pay applicable duties and fees. If a no recall letter is necessary we will be more than happy to provide on for you. An inspection is not necessary at the border so you do not have to make an appointment. Inspections are only necessary when the vehicle (trailer in this case) is motorized.
Valley Marine does not ship boats to Canada. The logistics of the dealership trying to get a boat across the border makes this impossible. However, arrangements can be made to deliver a boat to the border on the US side (fees may apply).
Also, when purchasing a new boat from the states Canadian customers need to know Yamaha warranties are not valid in Canada. Yamaha runs two different corporations Yamaha USA and Yamaha Canada, and they do not recognize each other's warranties. Mercury marine will honor any warranty in Canada or the U.S.
